Changes to Victorian State Sponsorship list
There have been a number of changes to the Victorian State Sponsorship list. The sponsorship lists are updated in order to reflect changes in the skill needs for Victorian employers whose positions they cannot fill locally.

The State of Victoria has made changes which include the addition and removal of occupations and specialisations from the Skilled Sponsored List. These changes came into effect on 12 January 2009, meaning those applications lodged up until the close of business on the 12th of January 2009 will be based on the previous state sponsorship list. For those applications for visa nomination by the Victorian Government lodged after the 12th of January 2009, the Government will only accept applications for those occupations that are listed on the updated list.

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) have announced a quota of 500 nominations for each state or territory for off-list nominations.
